About Vaughn Johnson Legacy Foundation
The Vaughn Johnson Legacy Foundation was created to honor Vaughn Johnson (2008–2023) and to support young people and families impacted by Acute Myeloid Leukemia. The foundation provides direct support to families, raises public awareness about pediatric AML, and seeks to build partnerships that advance research and patient care.
Programs include financial and emotional assistance for families during treatment, community fundraisers and awareness events, and scholarship/educational support intended for survivors pursuing careers in oncology nursing or medicine.
The organization runs local fundraising events and drives (walk-a-thons, restaurant give-back fundraisers, toy drives and holiday gift distributions) and describes itself as working with research institutions and healthcare partners to further treatment and cure efforts.
Notable achievements
Walk‑a‑Thon fundraising (2024)
Hosted a walk‑a‑thon on September 8, 2024 (Westminster, CO) that raised $3,066 to support the foundation’s programs.
Restaurant give‑back drive (Oct 2025)
Partnered with a local restaurant (Lazy Dog) October 13–19, 2025, raising $2,035 through a portion-of-sales fundraiser.
Light the Night tribute (Sept 2025)
Held a lantern-walk tribute event on September 13, 2025 (Northglenn, CO) that raised $923 and honored the foundation’s namesake.
