About MINNESOTA JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER

The Minnesota Jewish Community Center (Minnesota JCC) is a multi-site Jewish community center serving the Twin Cities with cultural, recreational, educational, and social programs for people of all ages and backgrounds. Formed through the merger of the St. Paul JCC and Sabes JCC, the organization operates sites including the Capp Center (St. Paul) and the Sabes Center (Minneapolis) and offers early childhood education, summer camps, fitness and aquatics, cultural arts, youth and teen programs, and inclusion services. In recent years the JCC has focused on strengthening program inclusion, sustaining its camp and early-childhood offerings, and professionalizing development and endowment management through the Minnesota JCC Foundation. Leadership stabilized with a planned CEO transition in 2024 and continued emphasis on membership-driven programming, philanthropy, and community partnerships.

Notable achievements

Merger creating Minnesota JCC (2021)

On January 1, 2021 the organization completed a formal merger of the St. Paul JCC and Sabes JCC to create the single Minnesota JCC, consolidating operations and program delivery across the Twin Cities to increase capacity and reduce duplication.

Established Minnesota JCC Foundation to secure long‑term support

The Minnesota JCC Foundation was created to hold and manage the JCC’s real estate assets and endowment funds, providing a dedicated vehicle for capital and legacy giving to sustain programs and facilities for future generations.

Leadership transition and operational continuity (2024)

A planned leadership transition in early 2024 elevated the organization’s COO to CEO while retaining experienced leadership in development and foundation roles, supporting continuity through strategic and fundraising priorities.
