About LACRECHE EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTERS INC

La Crèche Early Childhood Centers, Inc. is a nonprofit early care and education provider based in Minneapolis that has served North Minneapolis families since 1969. The organization operates two licensed early childhood centers serving infants through school-age children with a stated focus on school readiness, family partnership, and support for low-income families of color.

La Crèche is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), holds a four-star Parent Aware rating, and is designated a Hennepin County Strong Beginnings site and a Northside Achievement Zone early childhood partner. Leadership includes Executive Director Phyllis J. Sloan, who has led the agency since the late 1990s.

In recent years La Crèche has continued operating as a donor-facing, accredited provider: it reports program-service–driven revenues in the low-to-mid millions (IRS Form 990 data for FY 2023–2024) and local partnerships and philanthropic support to strengthen facilities, program quality, and transitions to kindergarten.
