About GREATER METROPOLITAN HOUSING CORPORATION

Greater Metropolitan Housing Corporation (GMHC) is a nonprofit housing developer and community revitalization organization founded in 1970 and operating across the Twin Cities. GMHC’s core work is a Single Family Homeownership Program that builds and renovates single-family homes for sale to low- and moderate-income, first-time, and first-generation homebuyers, often in partnership with cities, counties, Minnesota Housing, and neighborhood development organizations. GMHC also operates SHOP Home Mortgage™, a contract-for-deed and mortgage assistance product that pairs financing with counseling to help buyers transition to conventional mortgage products. In recent years GMHC has continued active development and preservation activity, reporting multi-million dollar annual program operations and partnerships with local banks and foundations to support its work.
