Arts Midwest
To build unprecedented opportunity across the Midwest by advancing creativity.
About Arts Midwest
Arts Midwest is a regional, nonprofit arts organization based in Minneapolis that supports, informs, and celebrates arts organizations, artists, and creative communities across the nine-state Midwest (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin) and the Native Nations that share this geography. The organization administers a variety of grant programs, touring and presenting initiatives, and capacity-building resources (including nationally partnered programs such as Shakespeare in American Communities and NEA Big Read) to expand access to the arts and strengthen local cultural infrastructure. In recent years Arts Midwest has expanded targeted work around cultural sustainability and equity—launching new initiatives (including ArtsHERE and a Cultural Sustainability effort in 2024), delivering dozens of grant opportunities, and continuing public-facing reporting about its impact and financials for donors and partners.
