About COCHRAN RECOVERY SERVICES INC

Cochran Recovery Services is a longstanding nonprofit residential treatment program (founded in 1974) that provides ASAM 3.1 and 3.5 level care for adults experiencing substance use disorders, with programming tailored for adults identifying as male. The program delivers evidence-based clinical interventions (CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Twelve-Step Facilitation), on-site nursing support, and 24-hour supervision in a medically monitored residential setting. Since 2019 Cochran has operated under the management and administrative oversight of NUWAY Alliance to maintain and expand access to extended residential care, and it remains licensed by Minnesota authorities to deliver detox and residential substance-use services. Programming is co-occurring-capable, medication-assisted-treatment (MAT) friendly, trauma-informed, and explicitly LGBTQIA+ safe and inclusive.

Notable achievements

Established, sustained residential program

Operating since 1974, Cochran has provided decades of medium- and extended-care residential treatment for people with substance use and co-occurring disorders, maintaining licensed services through changing local needs.

Managed transition to NUWAY Alliance (2019)

In 2019 the Cochran board partnered with NUWAY Alliance to assume management and operations, a change implemented to preserve the program’s services and stabilize operations.

Continued service and licensing during public-health challenges

The program has continued to operate as a licensed residential/mildly medically monitored treatment provider through recent public-health and system pressures, maintaining capacity to accept referrals and provide quarantine-capable care when needed.
