About RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES UPPER MIDWEST
Ronald McDonald House Charities Upper Midwest provides lodging, meals, and family-centered services for families of seriously ill or injured children through five locations in Minnesota. Services include overnight lodging (both a freestanding House and in-hospital rooms), two Family Rooms, an accredited K–12 one-room school for siblings, fully stocked kitchens, laundry, and family programming. RMHC-UM partners with local hospitals and the McDonald’s owner/operator network to keep families close to care and to one another.

Large-scale family support (2024)
In the most recent year, RMHC-UM served 5,649 families across its five locations and reported approximately $7.5 million in out-of-pocket savings for families from lodging, meals, and related services.
High-volume in-hospital lodging
The in-hospital Minneapolis site served 2,358 families in 2024, and the Gillette Family Room supported 1,577 families that year, demonstrating strong reach inside partner hospitals.
Volunteer & community capacity
Volunteers are a core resource: RMHC-UM mobilized 8,230 volunteers who contributed roughly 53,726 hours in the most recent reporting year, enabling nightly meals and daily operations.
