DARTS

DARTS is a community-based nonprofit (operating since 1974) that provides transportation, home- and community-based services, caregiver supports, and resource navigation to older adults (primarily ages 55+) and their families across the Twin Cities southeast metro. The organization operates wheelchair-accessible rides and LOOP community routes, offers home repairs and indoor/outdoor chore programs, and runs intergenerational volunteer programs such as Learning Buddies, Pen Pals and Tech Buddies. In recent years DARTS has expanded service navigation in partnership with Dakota County and local partners, doubled navigation support to serve 15 senior apartment buildings, and reported strong client outcomes: thousands of rides, high volunteer engagement, and client-reported improvements in ability to remain at home and reductions in isolation. DARTS publishes audited financials and annual reports documenting program scale, volunteer hours, client satisfaction, and partnerships with county and regional funders.
