About Family Alternatives, Inc.

Founded in 1978 by foster parents, Family Alternatives, Inc. is a Minneapolis-based, trauma-informed foster care agency that recruits, licenses, and supports foster families while providing home-based services and youth programs. The agency focuses on strengthening relationships and creating nurturing family environments for young people experiencing foster care.

Family Alternatives operates licensing, placement coordination, training, youth leadership and peer-support programs, and resources for foster parents and families in transition.
