About MILKWEED EDITIONS INC

Founded in Minneapolis in 1980, Milkweed Editions is a nonprofit literary press that publishes poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction and operates a bookselling arm and public programming. The press publishes roughly 25–30 new titles annually and maintains a backlist of more than 350 titles in print, with nearly six million copies of its books in circulation. In recent years Milkweed concluded a successful $3.6 million capital campaign (Taking Flight, 2023), continued wide national distribution and media visibility for its authors, and sustained active programming and prize administration through 2024–2026.
