PEOPLE RESPONDING IN SOCIAL MINISTRY
Dignity-centered resources for food, housing, and other basic needs — building healthy, stable lives across the Twin Cities metro.
About PEOPLE RESPONDING IN SOCIAL MINISTRY
PEOPLE RESPONDING IN SOCIAL MINISTRY (PRISM) is a Golden Valley, Minnesota–based nonprofit that provides dignity-first basic-needs services across the northwest Twin Cities suburbs, focusing on food access, housing stability, and family supports. PRISM operates a Marketplace food shelf (a client-choice model), housing prevention and financial-assistance programs, a thrift store called Shop for Change, and Celebrating Children programs (birthdays, holiday toy shoppe, back-to-school). These programs are designed to connect people to nutritious food, short- and long-term housing supports, and items that reduce household expense burden. In recent years PRISM has distributed more than one million pounds of food annually, helped several hundred households avoid eviction or secure stable housing, and mobilized hundreds of volunteers to deliver thousands of service hours and year-round direct services to families and seniors.
