About MINNETONKA PUBLIC SCHOOLS FOUNDATION

The Minnetonka Public Schools Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit partner of the Minnetonka Public Schools district that raises and manages philanthropic resources to support innovative curricular programs, teacher grants, named funds, and long‑term endowment projects across district schools. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of trustees and operates as the district's primary philanthropic engine—providing teacher grant funding, managing named and endowed funds, and underwriting capital projects and programmatic investments. In recent years the Foundation has funded classroom teacher grants (detailed grant lists for 2022–23 are published), purchased districtwide robotics kits in 2022, supported the VANTAGE & MOMENTUM facility build-out (Foundation Forum), and continued annual fundraising events such as Dream Makers (2026).

Notable achievements

Established Endowment (supports long-term projects)

The Foundation maintains a multi‑million dollar endowment that underwrites long‑term projects and program investments in Minnetonka schools, enabling multi‑year commitments such as The Hub and the Foundation Forum.

LEGO Spike Prime Robotics Kits (2022)

In January 2022 the Foundation funded the purchase and district rollout of 192 LEGO Education SPIKE Prime sets to support and modernize middle‑school STEM and robotics curricula at both Minnetonka middle schools.

Sustained teacher grant program

Since the program began, the Foundation has awarded substantial teacher grants to classrooms districtwide (historical totals reported in Foundation materials exceed seven figures), with detailed teacher grant awards published for the 2022–23 school year.
