About MINNESOTA FOUNDATION FOR AGRICULTURE

The Minnesota Foundation for Agriculture (formerly Minnesota Farm Bureau Foundation) is a Minnesota-based 501(c)(3) public charity that supports agricultural education, research, and community vitality across the state. The Foundation funds scholarships, grants, and outreach programs that connect farmers to consumers and strengthen rural health and leadership pipelines. In 2024–2025 the organization completed a strategic reorganization and rebrand to broaden its outreach and governance, and has continued partnerships and programming with organizations such as Minnesota 4‑H, Minnesota FFA Foundation, GREENSEAM and Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. Its programming includes scholarship awards (Al Christopherson and Paul Stark memorial scholarships), Ag Promotion grants, the Rural Healthcare Initiative, signature fundraising events (Ag Day Gala, Farmfest pork‑chop stand, annual Golf Scramble) and research dissemination partnerships.

Notable achievements

Strategic Reorganization and Rebrand (2024–2025)

Transitioned from the Minnesota Farm Bureau Foundation to the Minnesota Foundation for Agriculture, updated articles and bylaws, and established a new board and strategic planning process to expand visibility and programming statewide.

Statewide Program Reach

Supported programming and grantmaking that reached dozens of organizations and counties—annual reports cite funding to dozens of partner organizations and programming activity across more than 80 Minnesota counties.

Sustained Signature Fundraising and Events

Maintained long-running fundraising efforts (including a Farmfest pork‑chop stand maintained for 25+ years and annual Ag Day Gala) that generate dedicated revenue for scholarships, grants and rural initiatives.
