MDI HIRED HANDS

MDI Hired Hands is a subordinate nonprofit operating as part of the Minnesota Diversified Industries (MDI) family that provides inclusive, paid employment and training for people with disabilities. The organization operates production and environmental services (historically including recycling and pallet/assembly work) from a facility in northern Minnesota and works alongside MDI Commercial and Government Services to place and support employees. In recent years MDI Hired Hands has continued filing separate IRS Form 990s while integrating program reporting with MDI’s consolidated annual reports; it sustained program service revenues in the $600k–$700k range (with related operating expenses) and maintains active licensure for its day/support services. The program continues to provide on-site job coaching, work skills development and placement support, and remains an active social-enterprise employer for people with disabilities in the region.
