About FRANK THEATRE

Frank Theatre is a professional, donor-facing nonprofit theatre company based in Minneapolis, founded and led by Artistic Director Wendy Knox in 1989. The company produces 2–3 distinctive plays per year and emphasizes work that challenges audiences and explores social, political, and cultural concerns. In the last 2–3 years Frank Theatre resumed in-person production activity (returning to live performance in fiscal 2023), remounted new-work premieres and produced plays such as Trista Baldwin’s FETAL (remount, 2024) and Martyna Majok’s Ironbound (2024), continued education residencies in K–12 and alternative high school settings, and ran community engagement programs (Frankly Speaking and story circles) that broaden civic dialogue.
