About AFFORDABLE HOUSING CONNECTIONS
Affordable Housing Connections (AHC) is a Minnesota nonprofit (founded 1989) that specializes in compliance monitoring, program consulting, and professional education for affordable rental housing programs. AHC supports local governments, housing authorities, and property managers to ensure continued compliance with HUD, IRS, state, and local program requirements and to protect public and private investments in affordable housing.
In recent years AHC has continued active monitoring and training work across the Twin Cities region and greater Minnesota, including HOME program monitoring contracts with multiple participating jurisdictions and a multi‑year HOME monitoring agreement for Hennepin County (contract period January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2027). AHC also operates an Education & Leadership Center (ELC) — including the Leadership in Affordable Housing Certificate developed in collaboration with Hamline University — and maintains up-to-date program manuals and utility-allowance guidance (most recently updated for 2024–2026 program rule changes).
