MINNEAPOLIS UNITED SOCCER FOR THE CITY

Minneapolis United Soccer for the City is a Minnesota-based nonprofit youth soccer organization that operates citywide programs in Minneapolis. The club offers a large summer recreational program, year-round competitive teams, camps, clinics, and coaching development intended to be accessible and developmentally appropriate for players of varying skill levels and commitment.

The organization runs a summer Rec program that routinely serves large numbers of participants (the summer Rec is capped at about 1,200 players) and fields competitive teams across age groups (8U–19U). In late 2024–2025 the club engaged with MLS NEXT and completed the required Letter of Intent to participate in MLS NEXT’s new competition tier beginning with the 2025–26 cycle, expanding its pathway for high-level players.

On a financial and governance level the club files Form 990 with the IRS and reports multi-million-dollar program activity (FY2024 reported roughly $2.3M in revenue and $2.3M in program spending). Leadership includes an Executive Director and an independent board; the organization reports strong program-efficiency metrics (about 93% of spending allocated to program services for FY2024).
