About STARBASE MINNESOTA INC

STARBASE Minnesota, Inc. is a Minnesota-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that delivers immersive, aerospace-themed STEM education to K–6 students through multi-day, technology-rich programs. The organization operates its core five-day STARBASE program onsite at Air National Guard facilities in the Twin Cities (Fort Snelling / St. Paul) and Duluth, and also distributes curriculum kits and runs outreach and summer programs across the state. STARBASE Minnesota focuses on increasing STEM knowledge, confidence, and career awareness for historically underserved and urban youth, and partners with schools, the Minnesota National Guard, corporations, foundations, and community organizations to scale impact. The organization is led by an executive director and maintains active program delivery, scholarship, and outreach activities (including a scholarship launch and statewide curriculum distribution in recent years).

Notable achievements

Long-running statewide STEM program (est. 1993)

Founded in 1993, STARBASE Minnesota has operated continuous, evidence-informed STARBASE programming for decades, developing a stable multi-site model that embeds hands-on aerospace and engineering lessons into K–6 education.

Significant annual reach

Combined St. Paul and Duluth operations serve several thousand Minnesota students annually (reported in recent years at roughly 6,000–7,000 students on-site) and STARBASE curriculum kits and outreach have reached many more students and teachers across the state.

Program expansion and scholarship initiatives

Expanded programming to a Duluth site (established in the late 2010s) and launched scholarship and advanced-program initiatives in the past 2–3 years to broaden access and support continued student engagement in STEM pathways.
