The Temple Israel Foundation celebrates and sustains Temple Israel and its role as a voice for Jewish values in the City of Minneapolis by providing a permanent base of financial support to augment and strengthen Temple Israel's educational, religious, programmatic, community and interfaith activities.
About TEMPLE ISRAEL FOUNDATION
The Temple Israel Foundation is the endowment and planned-giving arm that exists to support Temple Israel of Minneapolis and its programs, including education, worship, community engagement and interfaith work. The Foundation manages endowed funds and planned gifts that provide annual grants and scholarships to ensure access to Temple Israel programming for congregants of all ages and financial circumstances. In recent years the Foundation has continued to grow its invested assets and to distribute annual grants to support clergy positions, scholarships based on financial need, and other congregational priorities.

The Foundation has grown and stewarded a multi-million-dollar endowment that provides a stable funding base for Temple Israel’s long-term program and staffing needs; net assets reported in recent IRS filings increased to approximately $17.1 million (fiscal year ending June 2025).
Annual grants and scholarships
The Foundation provides recurring grants to Temple Israel to fund scholarships (awarded based on financial need) and to support clergy and programmatic positions, helping to keep congregational programs accessible to members.
