About MOUNT OLIVET DAY SERVICES

Mount Olivet Day Services (MODS) is an adult day program based in South Minneapolis that delivers weekday respite care, therapeutic activities, socialization, health monitoring, and supportive services for older adults and people living with memory loss. The program was established in the mid-1990s and has operated continuously as a community-facing adult day services provider. MODS offers full- and half-day programming, hourly respite, memory-care assistance, health monitoring, transportation, and caregiver support. The facility is located at 5601 Lyndale Avenue South and serves residents across South Minneapolis and nearby suburbs with weekday hours and a staffed team of directors, health leads, program assistants, and drivers. In recent years the organization refocused exclusively on adult day services (transition completed in 2022), reconfigured facility space to expand adult programming (dedicated craft and sensory spaces and improved accessibility), and continues to publish regular participant newsletters and calendars reflecting ongoing operations and community activities.

Notable achievements

Longstanding adult day program (est. 1995)

Founded in the mid-1990s, MODS has provided uninterrupted weekday adult day programming for decades and has served hundreds of older adults in the South Minneapolis area.

Programmatic refocus and facility updates (2022–present)

MODS discontinued its child-care operations in 2022 to concentrate resources on adult services; the change freed space for a craft room, sensory room, expanded dining, and accessible restroom improvements to better serve participants with memory loss and mobility needs.

Sustained fiscal reporting and program revenue

The organization maintains annual Form 990 filings and, in recent filings, has reported program-service-driven revenue in the high six-figure range, supporting ongoing operations and participant services.
