About The Twin Cities River Rats
The Twin Cities River Rats is a Minneapolis-based 501(c)(3) show-ski team that has presented free public water-ski performances on the Mississippi River since the 1970s. The team runs regular summer shows (weekly Thursday evening performances during the season) that draw community audiences and rely on donations, sponsorships, and fundraising.
In addition to public entertainment, the River Rats operate instructional programming and a junior development track to introduce newcomers and youth to show-skiing and to develop competitive athletes. The organization is volunteer-led and actively competes in the National Show Ski Association (NSSA) circuit, combining community-facing performances with regional and national competition.
