MINNESOTA RECOVERY CONNECTION
To strengthen the recovery community through peer-to-peer support, public education, and advocacy.
About MINNESOTA RECOVERY CONNECTION
Minnesota Recovery Connection (MRC) is Minnesota’s first Recovery Community Organization (RCO), founded and led by people in recovery, their families, and allies. MRC provides peer recovery coaching, training, telephone recovery support, and community-based programs that help people initiate and sustain long-term recovery from substance use disorders. MRC combines lived experience with capacity-building, policy advocacy, and partnerships with state agencies and community programs to expand access to recovery supports across Minnesota. In recent years the organization has grown statewide training and peer-service capacity, partnered on re-entry and housing projects, and increased volunteer-delivered supports.
Notable achievements
Statewide peer supports delivered
MRC reports regularly expanding direct services: in its most recent impact reporting year it delivered peer recovery support to more than 1,300 individuals and logged thousands of volunteer hours supporting recovery activities.
Peer workforce development
MRC’s training programs have prepared hundreds of Peer Recovery Specialists (the site reports 259 trained in a recent year), including cohorts placed inside the Department of Corrections and other partner systems to strengthen Minnesota’s peer workforce.
RCO leadership and accreditation
Founded as Minnesota’s first Recovery Community Organization, MRC has obtained state- and national-level recognition for RCO standards, including accreditation/certification pathways that affirm its fidelity to peer-led recovery practices.
