About MINNESOTA ENVIRONMENTAL PARTNERSHIP

Minnesota Environmental Partnership (MEP) is a statewide coalition and 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports and coordinates more than 70 environmental and conservation organizations across Minnesota. It works through policy advocacy, public education, member trainings, and coalition convening to advance clean energy, clean water, healthy transportation, pollinator and wildlife protections, and environmental justice. MEP provides communications, research, action-alert networks, and a legislative “Briefing Book” to amplify member priorities and engage lawmakers and agencies. In recent years MEP has been actively engaged in statewide policy processes — including coalition advocacy around implementation of Minnesota’s 100% carbon-free electricity law (enacted February 7, 2023) and ongoing efforts on PFAS, agency accountability, and environmental justice (notable activity in 2023–2026). As a member-centered convener, MEP emphasizes equity and environmental justice in its work and supports member collaboration in issue clusters (water, energy & climate, transportation, pollinators, mining, and the Great Lakes) while producing public-facing resources, press events, and trainings to mobilize Minnesotans and influence state policy.
