About GIRLS ON THE RUN GREATER HOUSTON

Girls on the Run Greater Houston is an independent, licensed council of Girls on the Run International serving Harris, Fort Bend and Montgomery counties. The council delivers research-based, experiential programs for girls in 3rd–8th grade that combine physical activity with social‑emotional learning. Programs (Girls on the Run for grades 3–5 and Heart & Sole for grades 6–8) are delivered by trained volunteer coaches and culminate each season with a celebratory 5K and participant-led community impact projects. The council emphasizes inclusion, access, and financial assistance so participation is available regardless of family income. In recent years the organization has continued to expand locally while maintaining financial oversight: audited financial statements were completed for 2024, the council reported consolidated revenues and substantial program-service spending, and the council reports it has served more than 22,000 local girls since 2001 with a majority of participants receiving financial assistance.
