About HAWAII HEALTH INFORMATION EXCHANGE

Hawaii Health Information Exchange (HHIE) is a state-designated 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2006 to create a secure, statewide health information exchange that enables providers across the Hawaiian Islands to access comprehensive patient information at the point of care. HHIE operates the Health eNet Community Health Record and related services that aggregate clinical data from hospitals, clinics, labs, and other care settings to improve care coordination and reduce unnecessary costs. In the past 2–3 years HHIE completed governance and policy updates, implemented technical improvements (including a 2023 program to reduce duplicate patient records), and completed a leadership transition that positioned new executive leadership to advance the organization’s 2025–2028 strategic plan.
