BACH SOCIETY OF MINNESOTA

The Bach Society of Minnesota is a Saint Paul–based performing arts nonprofit founded in 1932 that presents choral and orchestral performances centered on the music of J.S. Bach and his contemporaries. It combines season concerts, family programming, and partnerships with other Twin Cities organizations to advance classical and early-music appreciation in the region. The organization runs a broad education and outreach program, including Mobile Mini-Concerts and community events, and maintains an ongoing collaboration with the Minnesota Orchestra for annual presentations of Handel’s Messiah that began in 1980. In recent years the Society has remained active and visible: it produced a month-long Minnesota Bach Festival to mark its 90th anniversary in 2022, delivered a busy 2023–24 season (including multiple major and family concerts plus extensive Mobile Mini-Concert outreach), and reported roughly $277,880 in revenue with a positive net income for the fiscal year ending July 2024, indicating continued operational stability.
