About THE LIFESPACE FOUNDATION

The Lifespace Foundation is the charitable arm of Lifespace Communities, Inc., raising and investing philanthropic funds to benefit residents, community programming, and team members across Lifespace’s network of communities. The Foundation concentrates on three core pillars — benevolent care, community projects & programming, and team member support — funding scholarships, emergency assistance, capital improvements, and long‑term benevolent care for residents who outlive their financial resources. In recent years the Foundation has been actively publishing annual financial reports and a 2024–25 Impact Report detailing community capital projects, team member scholarships and supports, and major fundraising initiatives (including substantial year‑end bonus fundraising in 2024).

Notable achievements

2024 Year‑End Bonuses Fundraising

In 2024 the Foundation helped raise nearly $3 million to fund year‑end bonuses for Lifespace Communities’ team members, supporting staff recognition and retention across multiple communities.

Team Member Scholarships

Foundation-supported scholarship programs expanded in 2024 (for example, Friendship Village of Bloomington awarded 40 scholarships), with many sister communities awarding multiple scholarships to support staff education and career advancement.

Community Capital Projects Completed

The Foundation funded and completed multiple community projects in recent years, including a Veterans Memorial at Beacon Hill, an accessible health‑center terrace at Claridge Court (a locally raised project), rooftop gardens, and improved outdoor access to enhance resident quality of life.
