About THE ALLIANCE FOR COLLECTIVE ACTION

The Alliance for Collective Action (AFCA) is a Denver-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that convenes leaders, organizations, and community members to advance environmental, social and economic solutions through coalition-building, programs, and The Alliance Center — a sustainable co‑working and event space. AFCA operates the Alliance Center building and runs Collective Impact projects that amplify climate and regenerative practices while lowering operating costs for tenant nonprofits. In recent years AFCA has expanded community engagement and reporting (including a 2024 Impact Report) showing substantial program outcomes and operational metrics. Recent activity includes growth of the Alliance community (nearly 2,000 members), ongoing Collective Impact work, upgrades to the Center’s outdoor patio and Green Waves Garden (2023), and service metrics such as job-seeker support, material recycling, and below-market space savings for nonprofit tenants.

Notable achievements

LEED v4 O+M Platinum (building)

The Alliance Center achieved LEED v4 Existing Buildings Operations + Maintenance Platinum — the first building in Colorado to earn that designation — demonstrating long-term leadership in green building operations.

Community scale & cost savings

AFCA’s network grew to nearly 2,000 community members and the organization reports saving local nonprofits more than $400,000 per year through below-market rent and shared event space.

Programmatic impact (2023–2024)

Recent program outcomes include supporting 100+ job seekers with career services, recycling more than 4,500 pounds of hard-to-recycle materials through an on-site station, and high engagement and inclusion metrics from participant surveys.
