BRIDGE LIVE ARTS

Bridge Live Arts (B.L.A.) is a San Francisco–based nonprofit that produces and supports equity-driven live performance, public dialogues, workshops, classes, and year-long community residencies. The organization began as Hope Mohr Dance (founded by Hope Mohr in 2007) and expanded in 2010 to include The Bridge Project; in 2022 the organization formally rebranded as Bridge Live Arts and adopted a distributed/co-directorship leadership model.

B.L.A. centers artists from historically marginalized communities, prioritizing BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and disability access through paid artist fees, capacity-building residencies, accessibility services, and equity-driven internal governance. Its core programs include the Community Engagement Residency (CER), multidisciplinary performance series, public dialogues, and workshops that explicitly link artistic practice to social justice and community organizing.

In recent years the organization has received public operating and project support from arts funders and foundations and has publicly documented its organizational shift toward shared leadership and financial transparency. B.L.A. continues to present seasonal events and to support lead Community Engagement Residency artists (including named cohorts for 2025–2026) while advancing models for artist power and equitable nonprofit governance.
