About Southwest High School Performing Arts Council

Southwest High School Performing Arts Council (also known as SWHS Performing Arts Council or Southwest High School Music Boosters) is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) that raises funds and organizes community support for music, dance, guitar, jazz, orchestra, and theatre programs at Southwest High School in Minneapolis. The Council supplements school resources by funding sheet music, instruments, accompanists, clinicians, costumes, and other program needs. In recent years the Council has continued an active fundraising and sponsorship program (including its annual Hot Notes gala) and direct grantmaking to school departments. In the fiscal year ending June 2024 the organization reported $200,038 in revenue and directed significant program service funding and grants to the school’s performing arts departments, supporting more than 350 students.
