About NACEL OPEN DOOR INC

Nacel Open Door Inc. (NOD) is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 45-0369642) that administers international student exchange programs, short-term cultural immersion, and related K–12 international education initiatives. Formed in 1997 through the merger of two long-standing exchange organizations, NOD operates nationally from the St. Paul/Roseville, Minnesota area and places international students with host families while supporting U.S. students who study abroad.

Programs center on homestays, academic placements, short-term cultural trips, and scholarships for students ages roughly 11–18; NOD is designated as a Department of State J-1 exchange sponsor and participates in quality-assurance networks for student exchange. In recent years the organization has continued core exchange activity, hosted hundreds of students annually, and maintained its school- and program-based partnerships within the Nacel International School System and affiliated international programs.

Formed in 1997 from the merger of organizations originating in 1957 and 1964, Nacel Open Door continues multi-decade experience delivering student exchange and international education.

Ongoing student placements

NOD regularly places and supports hundreds of international exchange students annually through homestays and school enrollments across the United States.

Established international school partnerships

Developed and supported the Nacel International School System, including the Saint Paul Preparatory School model and multiple international partner schools, expanding long-term K–12 international education offerings.
