About EMPOWHER INSTITUTE INC

EmpowHer Institute is a Los Angeles–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that delivers gender-responsive, trauma-informed social-emotional learning (SEL), mentorship, and college/career exposure for girls ages 11–18. The organization partners with Title I middle and high schools across Los Angeles County to deliver in-school SEL classes (EmpowHer Girls Academy) and out-of-school leadership and career-readiness programming (EmpowHer Leaders Academy, E-STEAM, summer Social Justice STEAM camp and paid internships).

Founded in 2003, EmpowHer reports serving more than 1,000 girls per year and has impacted 4,100+ Black and Brown girls since inception. In the last 2–3 years the organization has continued program expansion and public-facing activities (including anniversary and community events), maintained regular Form 990 filings, and sustained partnerships and grant-funded initiatives to scale STEAM, workforce development, and scholarship pathways for participants.
