About ROW HOUSE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Row House Community Development (Row House CDC) is the affordable-housing affiliate established by Project Row Houses to develop and manage low- and moderate-income rental housing in Houston’s Northern Third Ward. Established in the early 2000s and recognized as tax-exempt in January 2004, the organization acquires, constructs, and rehabilitates duplexes and small rental properties designed to reflect the neighborhood’s historic character. Row House CDC actively manages a portfolio of historic-style duplexes and rental units in the Third Ward, prioritizing very low-to-low income households and resident participation in community-building activities. In recent filings (fiscal years through 2023–2024) the organization reported continued program activity, operating revenue in the mid-six-figure range and total assets in the multi-million-dollar range, supporting its property-management and preservation work. Row House CDC operates as a donor-facing nonprofit with an active website, resident-selection policies, ongoing property listings, and documented partnerships (including Project Row Houses and local funders) that support its affordable housing and preservation mission.
