About RE-VOLV

RE-volv (EIN 45-1035583) is a San Francisco–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides zero-down solar financing and technical support to community-serving nonprofits, co-ops, and houses of worship. The EIN and tax-exempt status have been verified against public nonprofit records and filings. RE-volv operates two core programs: a solar financing program that structures leases, loans, and power purchase agreements so nonprofits can install on-site solar with no upfront cost, and the year-long Solar Ambassador Fellowship that trains college students in community outreach, project development, and solar finance. These donor-facing programs are intended to lower energy costs for nonprofits, build local clean-energy leadership, and expand equitable solar adoption. In recent years RE-volv has scaled its financing capacity and project pipeline: it secured a multi-million dollar investment to expand lending capacity in 2024, continued to place large rooftop projects (including a 200 kW installation for LifeLine Animal Project in 2024), and reports cumulative impact metrics (installed capacity, nonprofit partners served, lifetime energy bill savings and avoided emissions) that reflect substantial growth through 2023–2024.

Notable achievements

RE-volv’s Solar Ambassador Fellowship has trained nearly 400 student ambassadors from many colleges and universities since its founding, directly supporting local project development and creating a talent pipeline into the solar and sustainability sectors.
