About ENVIRONMENTAL COMMUNITY ADVOCATES OF GALENA PARK

Environmental Community Advocates of Galena Park (ECAGP) is a grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Galena Park, Texas that organizes residents, conducts community education, and advocates for improved air quality and environmental justice in neighborhoods near the Houston Ship Channel. ECAGP operates community-facing programs including an emergency alert system, local monitoring and outreach, and coalition work to influence policy and regulatory decisions affecting public health. Organized delegations for Clean Air Advocacy activities in Washington, D.C., trained community members in federal advocacy, and coordinated the delivery of hundreds of handwritten letters from impacted residents to congressional and administrative offices to advance air-quality protections.

Secured philanthropic and grant support that materially increased operating resources over recent years, enabling staff, community programs, monitoring activities, and partnerships to scale local outreach and advocacy work.
