MINNESOTA AGRICULTURAL WATER RESOURCES COALITION (operating as Minnesota Agricultural Water Resource Center / MAWRC)

The Minnesota Agricultural Water Resources Coalition (MAWRC), which operates publicly as the Minnesota Agricultural Water Resource Center (MAWRC), is a farmer-led research and education nonprofit focused on water-quality issues in agricultural landscapes. It was formed by Minnesota's primary farm organizations to deliver practical, on-farm information and outreach to farmers and advisors. MAWRC directs the Discovery Farms Minnesota on‑farm monitoring network, organizes annual Nutrient Management and Nitrogen conferences, and partners with state agencies, university researchers, and producer groups to translate monitoring data into actionable recommendations. In recent years (2023–2026) MAWRC has continued to run multi-state webinars, annual conferences, and special projects such as conservation drainage demonstrations at Farmamerica. MAWRC's work emphasizes farmer engagement and evidence-based practice: the organization collects field-scale data (edge-of-field runoff and tile drainage measurements) and uses those data to inform practice adoption, extension programming, and state-level nutrient-reduction conversations while leveraging a broad membership of Minnesota farm organizations.
