About Attack Poverty

Attack Poverty is a faith-rooted community development organization founded to break cycles of generational poverty by partnering with local churches, residents, and stakeholders to create long-term, place-based "Friends" communities. The organization operates programs that combine in-school student support, after-school enrichment, literacy and GED classes, ESL and job-readiness training, home repair, and disaster recovery. In recent years Attack Poverty has expanded its program and disaster-response capacity across Fort Bend County and the Houston metro area, operating large-scale home-repair and recovery efforts and running emergency shelter and basic-needs operations in partnership with local government and relief agencies.
