About Rocky Mountain Employee Ownership Center
RMEOC is a Denver-based nonprofit (501(c)(3), founded in the early 2010s) that helps business owners, workers, and communities convert businesses to employee ownership through technical assistance, incubation, education, and policy work.
The organization provides one-on-one conversion advising (ESOPs, worker cooperatives and hybrid models), incubates new cooperative ventures, runs trainings and outreach, and engages in state-level partnerships to expand access to employee ownership.
In the last 2–3 years RMEOC has been active incubating and launching large projects (notably a driver-owned rideshare cooperative), expanding partnership work with state programs to subsidize conversions, and growing its program and operational capacity.
Notable achievements
Incubated Drivers Cooperative Colorado
Led multi-year incubation of a driver-owned rideshare cooperative that progressed from organizing in 2022 to a public launch and local recognition in 2024–2025.
Supported multiple successful conversions
Provided advisory and implementation support for several business transitions to employee ownership, including businesses featured as RMEOC success stories (for example Flyin’ Miata and other worker cooperatives).
Policy and state partnership wins
Contributed to state-level employee-ownership policy efforts and developed partnerships with Colorado programs that subsidize conversion costs and expand access to technical support.
