About Center for Earth, Energy & Democracy (CEED)

The Center for Earth, Energy & Democracy (CEED) is a Minneapolis-based environmental justice organization that partners with frontline communities—particularly Black, Indigenous, people of color, and low-income neighborhoods—to shape climate, energy, and environmental policy. CEED combines community-centered research, popular education, and policy advocacy so impacted communities can lead decision-making that affects their health and livelihoods. In recent years CEED has expanded regional programming and resources, published annual impact reporting and a new strategic framework, and launched the Midwest Climate & Health Equity Hub to support Midwest organizations working at the intersection of climate, energy affordability, and public health.

Notable achievements

In 2026 CEED launched the Midwest Climate & Health Equity Hub, a regional initiative to invest in and connect organizations addressing the links between energy affordability, climate impacts, and public health across Midwest states; the Hub includes regional partners and is funded through philanthropic support.

Published 2025 Impact Report & Strategic Framework

CEED released a 2025 Impact Report and a new Strategic Framework documenting recent program outcomes, capacity-building work with community partners, and organizational priorities for advancing just climate and energy policy.

National policy convening and advocacy influence
