REFUGE CITY

Refuge City is a Richardson, Texas–based 501(c)(3) that provides trauma-informed restorative care, education, and long-term re-integration services for children and young people who have been sexually exploited. Programs include individual and family trauma counseling, therapeutic art, family-style meals and caregiver equipping, plus a GED program and mentoring aimed at helping survivors move toward independence.

The organization operates as a small, donor-supported nonprofit serving the Dallas–Fort Worth area; it files annual Form 990s and reports modest staff and operating budgets that fund direct services and educational programming. Refuge City has publicly reported fiscal-year 2024 financials and continues to develop its continuum-of-care goals (including plans for transitional housing and aftercare supports).

In the last 2–3 years Refuge City has documented direct program outcomes (including GED completions in 2024), received foundation grants to expand services, and partnered with law-enforcement and anti-trafficking groups to support rescues and high-risk victim interventions while providing restoration and follow‑up services for survivors.
