About GLOBAL VILLAGE CHARTER COLLABORATIVE

Global Village Charter Collaborative (GVCC / Global Village Academy Collaborative) is a Colorado nonprofit charter-school collaborative that provides centralized operational and educational support to the Global Village Academy network. The collaborative supports tuition-free K–8 language-immersion academies with campuses serving the Denver metro region (including Aurora, Northglenn/Thornton, and Douglas County). GVCC’s network model emphasizes daily language-immersion instruction (English plus a second world language) integrated with core academics and development of cross-cultural, college- and career-ready skills. The collaborative oversees curriculum fidelity, shared services, governance supports and network-level planning while each academy operates under its own charter authorization. In recent years the collaborative has remained active in governance and program development (board meetings, charter-authorizer engagement and family outreach), continued to host international exchange and travel programming for students, and advanced language-assessment and professional-learning activities across the network.

Notable achievements

Network expansion to multiple campuses

Expanded the Global Village network to multiple tuition-free charter campuses in the Denver metro area (Aurora, Northglenn/Thornton, and Douglas County), growing access to language-immersion K–8 programming.

Established immersion curriculum model

Implemented a sustained language-immersion model in which students receive core instruction and second-language instruction for a substantial portion of the day, offering language tracks such as Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, French, and Russian.

International partnerships and programming

Developed international partnerships and exchange activities (including sister-school relationships and organized student international trips) and presented immersion practices at national language-education forums to share the network’s model and curriculum materials.
