About GIRLS ON THE RUN MINNESOTA INC

Girls on the Run Minnesota, a council of Girls on the Run International based in Saint Paul, delivers evidence-based, staff- and volunteer-led programs for 3rd–8th grade participants (Girls on the Run, Heart & Sole) and seasonal Camp GOTR. The organization pairs social-emotional learning with physical activity and culminates each season with community 5K events designed to celebrate participants' growth and teamwork. Since launching service in the Twin Cities in 2011 and expanding statewide in 2021, Girls on the Run Minnesota has reached tens of thousands of girls (more than 40,000 participants since 2012) and reports that each year over 5,000 local participants complete a GOTR Minnesota 5K. The council operates a pay-what-you-can scholarship model and provides running gear and program scholarships to ensure access. Girls on the Run Minnesota publishes annual reports and Form 990 filings, maintains an active volunteer coach corps and regional program staff, and emphasizes inclusion—welcoming girls, trans girls, and gender-expansive youth while training coaches to create safe, supportive practice environments.
