About NATURA BOLIVIA FOUNDATION

NATURA BOLIVIA FOUNDATION is the U.S.-based, tax-exempt fundraising and support organization that backs Fundación Natura Bolivia’s on-the-ground conservation work in Bolivia. The foundation channels philanthropic contributions and institutional grants to protect water-producing forests, create and legally secure subnational protected areas, and scale community-led conservation mechanisms. The organization works in partnership with Bolivian municipalities, indigenous and rural communities, and international conservation partners to implement Reciprocal Watershed Agreements (ARA), monitor biodiversity and water quality, and strengthen local governance for long-term conservation and climate resilience.

Notable achievements

Major grant funding secured

In recent years the foundation secured significant institutional grants (including a six-figure grant from Rainforest Trust) to fund conservation, project implementation and partnership activities supporting areas protected and ARA implementation across Bolivia.

Support for large-scale protected areas

Provided financial support and partnership resources that contributed to the legal protection and management of millions of hectares of forest through subnational protected areas and complementary conservation mechanisms implemented by Fundación Natura Bolivia.

Scaled community watershed agreements and monitoring

Enabled expansion and replication of Reciprocal Watershed Agreements (ARA) and supported biodiversity and water-quality monitoring programs across multiple Bolivian ecoregions, reaching hundreds of municipalities and tens of thousands of families.
