About Young Women's Choral Projects of San Francisco

Young Women’s Choral Projects (YWCP) is a San Francisco–based, donor-facing 501(c)(3) arts education organization founded in 2012 that trains girls and young women (approximately ages 4–18) through progressive choral ensembles and musicianship curriculum. YWCP operates multiple choir levels (training choirs and a premier Young Women’s Chorus), teaches solfège, sight-singing, vocal technique, music theory and a multilingual repertoire, and presents frequent public concerts, commissions, and touring projects with major arts partners. In recent years YWCP completed an artistic leadership transition (founder Dr. Susan McMane retired at the end of the 2021–22 season and new leadership assumed duties in mid-2022), continued regular concert programming and community engagement, and reported fiscal-year 2024 revenue and program-service activity consistent with an active operating arts organization.

ASCAP/Chorus America Award

Recipient of the Adventurous Programming Award in the youth/children’s chorus category (2017) for commitment to programming works by living composers.
