About ADVANCED RADIOLOGY SERVICES FOUNDATION

The Advanced Radiology Services Foundation (ARS Foundation) was initiated by the members of Advanced Radiology Services, P.C. as a public charity to use charitable giving to improve the field of radiology and the health of the communities its members serve. The Foundation operates as a grantmaking organization focused on radiology education, health policy research, quality improvement, and workforce well-being. In recent years (2023–2025) the Foundation has supported partners such as the Harvey L. Neiman Health Policy Institute (ACR Foundation), the RSNA Research & Education Foundation, Radiopaedia.org, Emory University Center for Ethics, and new quality-improvement partnerships focused on lung cancer screening. Following a challenging financial environment for the specialty, the Foundation reduced the number of funded projects in 2024 while maintaining a stewardship strategy that produced a net investment gain and preserved grantmaking capacity for 2025 and beyond.

Notable achievements

Sustained support and challenge-match for Neiman HPI

Longstanding multi-year funding and a challenge-match structure have helped create and expand the Harvey L. Neiman Health Policy Institute as a national research resource for radiology health policy; ARS Foundation holds a seat on the institute’s advisory board and supported research that produced numerous peer-reviewed outputs in 2024.

Strategic funding to RSNA Research & Education Foundation

Continued contributions through the Visionaries in Practice program have supported RSNA research and education efforts; the RSNA R&E Foundation reported record disbursements in 2024 and high external matching leverage for grantees supported in part by ARS Foundation giving.

Financial stewardship and asset growth

Despite a constrained grant portfolio in 2024, the Foundation reported a net investment gain and ended the year with greater assets than in 2023 (assets near $1.0M), preserving capacity to resume an expanded grant program in 2025–2026.
