About DARTNet Institute

DARTNet Institute is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Aurora, Colorado that builds and operates a national practice-based research and quality-improvement infrastructure for primary care. The organization standardizes and integrates electronic health record, claims, and patient-reported data to enable multi-site comparative effectiveness research, registries, and practice-level quality improvement.

In the last 2–3 years DARTNet has actively run multi-site pragmatic studies and quality-improvement projects (including asthma, pain care, diabetes shared medical appointments, and pediatric long-COVID work), continued to publish peer-reviewed research, and expanded clinical analytics products (including the In4MedCare® dashboards) that support clinics and networks in tracking population health and closing care gaps.

Notable achievements

Established national federated research network

Built and sustained a multi-site, practice-based research network that aggregates and standardizes EHR, claims, and patient-reported data to support comparative effectiveness research and quality improvement across primary care practices.

Developed clinic analytics platform

Created the In4MedCare® analytics and dashboard tools to give practices near real-time population-level and patient-specific reports for care management, quality measurement, and operational decision making.

Led multi-site pragmatic studies and peer-reviewed publications

Served as the data and operations partner on multiple pragmatic trials and quality-improvement studies and contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications in 2023–2025 that report on primary care outcomes, chronic disease management, and practice-based research methods.
