About EMERGE FELLOWSHIP

EMERGE FELLOWSHIP (branded as EMERGE) is a Houston-based college-access nonprofit that provides intensive, developmentally focused college advising and persistence support for high-achieving students from low-income communities. The organization works with students beginning in 10th grade through college graduation, combining one-to-one advising, college exposure (including summer college tours), and alumni networks to maximize matriculation and degree completion at selective institutions. EMERGE reports substantially stronger outcomes than national averages for similar students: nearly all scholars are accepted to selective colleges, the vast majority enroll in four-year universities, and more than four-in-five EMERGE scholars complete a degree within six years. The organization has grown from a small Houston initiative into a multi-district program serving thousands of high school and college scholars and publishes annual impact reports documenting results and financials.

Notable achievements

High selective-college outcomes

EMERGE reports that approximately 99% of EMERGE scholars are accepted to selective colleges and 94% enroll in four-year institutions, demonstrating strong college-admission outcomes for its students.

Strong college completion rates

EMERGE scholars graduate at far higher rates than comparable low-income students—about 84% complete a bachelor’s degree within six years compared with much lower national averages for the same demographic.

Program scale and sustained growth

EMERGE serves a combined cohort of more than 3,200 high school and college scholars across multiple Houston-area school districts and operates large-scale college-exposure programs (including summer college tours serving ~400 juniors annually).
