About WHITECAPS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

The Whitecaps Community Foundation (founded in 2012) is the philanthropic arm of the West Michigan Whitecaps franchise and operates from LMCU Ballpark in Comstock Park, MI. The foundation focuses on programs for children and families across West Michigan that promote recreation, reading, leadership and access to youth sports.

The foundation runs several long-standing initiatives — including the Ted Rasberry Youth League, an incentive-based Reading Club, concessions fundraising opportunities for local nonprofits, and in-stadium giving programs — and partners with schools, the YMCA, Grand Rapids Parks & Recreation and local corporate sponsors to expand reach. In recent years the foundation has reported substantial in-kind and cash support to area nonprofits and sustained high-volume community programming (including school reading initiatives and ticket donations).
