About BUILDING SKILLS NY

Building Skills NY is a New York City–based workforce intermediary that provides hands-on training, industry-recognized credentials, placement, and retention support to jobseekers seeking careers in the construction trades. BSNY operates a signature Construction Career Accelerator (CCA) launched in 2021 that delivers NCCER-based advanced skills training in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC; the program reports strong outcomes (industry certifications, measurable wage growth and high one-year retention for graduates). The organization has placed thousands of New Yorkers into full-time construction work and tracks retention and wage outcomes as part of its program model. BSNY maintains partnerships with community colleges and city workforce agencies, participates in the Department of Labor–supported Strengthening Community Colleges initiative, and has received philanthropic and local government support in recent years. The organization runs annual fundraising and recognition events and continues to expand employer partnerships across the construction and real estate sectors.
