Mandarin Chinese Language Immersion Magnet School PTO (MIMS PTO)

Mandarin Chinese Language Immersion Magnet School PTO (MIMS PTO) is the parent-teacher organization for the Mandarin Immersion Magnet School in Houston, TX. It is a separate 501(c)(3) legal entity (EIN confirmed as 45-5543774) that raises funds, organizes cultural and community events, and provides volunteer and classroom support to students and teachers. In the past 2–3 years the PTO has run major campus fundraising and cultural events (including Chinese New Year and Mid-Autumn celebrations, a Moon Gala, and Boosterthon-style fundraising) and directed proceeds toward campus improvements, classroom materials, technology, and teacher appreciation. The PTO maintains bylaws (updated May 2025), posts meeting minutes and financial documents for members, and operates an active executive board for 2025–2026. MIMS PTO works in close partnership with Houston ISD and the school administration to fund targeted classroom and campus needs, accept tax-deductible donor gifts, and support programs that sustain the school’s Mandarin immersion curriculum and student activities.
